Ethics And Malpractice

The Indonesian Civil Law Review (ICLR) requires all authors to comply with publication ethics standards as set by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). The journal adheres to the principle of confidentiality and is committed to protecting the personal information of every individual involved. ICLR is available in print and online form, and upholds publication ethics by rejecting all forms of plagiarism based on the results of the examination through Turnitin. This statement reflects the ethical behavior expected of all parties in the article publishing process, including authors, editors-in-chief, editorial boards, peer-reviewers, and publishers (PT. Makanja Group Publishing). This statement was compiled based on COPE's Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors.

Editors and Editorial Board

The Indonesian Civil Law Review (ICLR) has an editor and editorial board who have expertise in their respective fields, and can be contacted through the email address and Scopus ID listed on the journal's official website. The selection of editors and editorial boards is carried out selectively to ensure academic quality and diversity of perspectives. Currently, the editorial boards come from five countries, including Indonesia, the United Arab Emirates, Pakistan, Malaysia, and the United States of America. This composition reflects ICLR's commitment to international scientific collaboration and the maintenance of publication quality standards at a global level.

Author's Responsibilities

Fees: The Indonesian Civil Law Review (ICLR) is an open access scientific journal committed to supporting the widespread and inclusive dissemination of legal knowledge. As part of this commitment, ICLR does not charge any fees to authors or readers. This journal does not charge subscription fees, access fees per article, article processing fees (APC), manuscript submission fees, or other forms of fees. The entire publishing process, from submission to article publication, is carried out free of charge as a form of support for the development of legal science that is fair, transparent, and accessible to all circles.

Author's Guide

All authors who submit manuscripts to the Indonesian Civil Law Review (ICLR) are required to make a real intellectual contribution to the content of the submitted article. The author is solely responsible for ensuring the authenticity, accuracy, and integrity of his scientific work, and is obliged to withdraw or make corrections if significant errors are found after publication. If there is financial support in the process of researching or writing an article, it must be stated openly in the manuscript. Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously, or multiple publishing of similar articles, is a serious violation of publication ethics and is strictly prohibited. In addition, each article submitted must include a list of references compiled in accordance with the provisions in the ICLR Writers' Guidelines.

Aspects of Publication Ethics

The Indonesian Civil Law Review (ICLR) requires all parties involved in the publishing process, including publishers, editors, and authors, to comply with publication ethics standards as set by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). In line with this commitment, ICLR pays serious attention to several ethical aspects as follows:

  1. ICLR and its editorial team will take reasonable steps to detect and prevent the publication of manuscripts that contain violations of research integrity;
  2. ICLR and its editors will not tolerate, justify or knowingly allow publication ethics violations of any kind;
  3. If there are allegations of ethical or academic integrity violations, ICLR and the editors will handle the report seriously, objectively, and in accordance with applicable procedures;
  4. ICLR provides clear guidelines related to retraction or correction of articles when necessary;
  5. ICLR and its editors are always ready to publish corrections, clarifications, retractions, or apologies when significant errors or violations are found in the publication.

Copyright and Licensing

Authors who will publish their manuscripts in the Indonesian Civil Law Review (ICLR) are deemed to have agreed to the following terms and conditions:

  1. The author retains copyright to his scientific work and grants the first publication rights to ICLR, with the work licensed simultaneously under the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY). This license allows others to share the work while still providing proper acknowledgment of the authorship and initial publication in the journal;
  2. The author may enter into additional contractual agreements of a non-exclusive nature to distribute the published version of the article (for example, by uploading it to an institutional repository or including it in a book), while maintaining that the initial publication was carried out in ICLR;
  3. Authors are allowed and encouraged to publish their work online (e.g. through institutional repositories or personal websites) before and during the submission process. This practice can encourage more productive scholarly exchanges and increase the potential for initial citations of the work in question.

Subscription Fee or Pay-Per-View Fee

The Indonesian Civil Law Review (ICLR) is an open access journal that supports the principle of openness in the dissemination of legal knowledge. ICLR does not charge subscription fees, pay-per-view access fees, Article Processing Charges (APC), manuscript submission fees, or other fees. The entire process of publishing articles, from submission to publication, is carried out free of charge in any form.

Electronic Backup and Storage

All articles published in the Indonesia Civil Law Review (ICLR) have been backed up and stored securely in the official repository of the Faculty of Law, Ichsan Sidenreng Rappang University, Indonesia, as part of a form of institutional cooperation. Authors and readers can submit a request to obtain an electronic or printed version of the published article at any time via the editor's official email: indonesiacivillawreviewlawrevi@gmail.com.

Indonesian Civil Law Review (ICLR) is owned and managed by PT. Makanja Group Publishing collaborates with the Faculty of Law, Ichsan Sidenreng Rappang University, Indonesia, as part of the institution's commitment to developing scientific studies in the field of civil law and positive law in Indonesia in general.

Frequency of Publication

The Indonesian Civil Law Review (ICLR) is published twice a year, in June and December. Each edition contains a minimum of five (5) scientific articles that are of quality and relevant to the field of civil law and positive law in Indonesia.

Geographic Diversity:

The Indonesian Civil Law Review (ICLR) affirms its commitment to geographic diversity in journal management. Editors and editorial boards are selected from different regions of the world, including Indonesia, the United Arab Emirates, Pakistan, Malaysia, and the United States of America. This composition reflects ICLR's commitment to international scientific collaboration and the maintenance of publication quality standards at a global level. Most members of the editorial board have specialized expertise in the legal field and are equipped with a Scopus ID indicating institutional affiliation as well as an official email address listed in the journal. In addition, authors who submit articles to ICLR come from various countries, in accordance with the scope and purpose of the journal in accommodating international and national legal perspectives.
